Who can say for sure whether or not new media will replace traditional television as we know it today? No one can predict the evolution of mass media but the people in the movie clip above are all related to the field in some way. In the Flash movie, the three media experts offered their opinions on the matter.

To start this project, I first thought of a research question. Being an electronic media major, I found it appropriate to ask a question related to the television field. The three participants are all related to the topic in some way; one is a fellow electronic media major, another is the audio/visual engineer for the communication department at Bradley University, and the last is a weather anchor for an NBC News affiliate. I started by recording their audio responses using a digital camera. I then edited their responses into 30-second pieces, complete with fades and music. This was the simple part. Then I had to create a Flash interface that housed buttons to control the movie. The buttons externally loaded each sound file and corresponding text file via ActionScript. The whole project took about 3 days to complete and utilized Adobe Flash, Photoshop, Premiere, and Dreamweaver. I was pleased with the responses I received during the interviews for this project and I feel that the project turned out quite nicely.
